Additional Ideas:

The seven themes outlined below, which give information about the range of topics discussed in each narrative or interview, were developed for the New South Voices project by Project MORE, a U.S. Department of Education funded initiative at UNC-Charlotte and a partner of the New South Voices project. Project MORE uses the narratives and interviews in the Charlotte Narrative and Conversation Collection (CNCC) to form the basis of teaching and teacher-training materials that represent the linguistic and cultural diversity of the greater Charlotte-Mecklenburg region. NOTE: Because the CNCC is a collection of naturally-occurring, uncensored speech, the content and language of certain narratives and interviews may not always be suitable for K-12 students.
